# About

Thirteen years, two cycles, one turning point.

The path behind Torus, and the voices that shaped it.

## What Torus is

A house of initiatives for planetary transition.

Torus Ecosystems of Change is a practice for planetary transition. We work with mission driven organizations and the funders behind them, so they can read the pace they are living on and govern it with their own people. Our work rests on a few plain ideas: time is infrastructure, pace can be chosen, and what an organization knows has to be handed on.

Torus is not a single project. It is a house of initiatives that share one question: how do people, organizations and places set a rhythm they can sustain? Each initiative has its own practice, and Torus holds them together with the research, the instruments and the partners they share.

### The name has a history

1. Before 2021 **Torus Time Lab** The first name of the work.
2. 2021 to 2026 **Temporality Lab** Research, classes and work with partners, as a solo practice.
3. 2026 to 2039 **Torus Ecosystems of Change** A collective practice, larger than the theme of time.

Temporality Lab did not end. It remains one of the initiatives sustained by Torus Ecosystems of Change, the one dedicated to research and teaching on time.

## Who founded it

(image: Gust speaking on stage)

Torus was founded by Gustavo Nogueira de Menezes, Gust. He is from the Amazon Rainforest and lives in Barcelona now. In June 2013, as a strategist inside a global holding, he watched Brazil take to the streets, studied that first great protest of a hyperconnected country and began to teach the spirit of the time. A temporalist, he has given thirteen years to authorial work on temporality, carried alongside partners across the world.

## Thirteen years, one turning point

Two cycles around one turning point. Tap a circle.

2020

### The turning point

In the middle of thirteen years the world stops. A decolonial turn begins, and a talk at TEDxRio proposes a new relationship with time.
